Psst! Your dreams have finally come true!
There’s a non-surgical method of getting rid of stubborn fat cells, with little-to-no downtime!
We offer CoolSculpting, which is an in-office treatment that reduces 20-25% of fat cells with each treatment. We are born with fat cells and develop more cells until adolescence. After adolescence, the number of fat cells remains the same, but the cells shrink and swell with weight loss/gain. CoolSculpting freezes cells and the cells undergo cryolipolysis, which is the medical term to describe the breakdown of fat cells from cooling. This reduces the number of fat cells, so there are fewer cells to swell. CoolSculpting is like taking a layer of sponge away from a sponge: the remaining tissue can still shrink or swell, but there is less tissue present.
During treatment, a hand piece is applied to the treated area, and an internal vacuum in the hand piece draws the fat tissue into the hand piece. The tissue is held between the hand piece’s chilling plates for an hour. During treatment, patients feel the initial pull of the vacuum and slight cooling. The fat tissue then freezes, and the area becomes numb for the remainder of the hour. Patients are very comfortable during treatment and often read books or magazines, watch TV, or catch up on a catnap while the machine is running. At the end of the hour, the hand piece is removed, and the treated tissue appears raised and frozen. Massage is performed on the frozen tissue, which helps crystallized fat cells to break down further, and softens and flattens the tissue. After treatment, patients may feel like they have done many sit-ups on days 4-10 after treatment, and there are no restrictions on activity after CoolSculpting treatment. The fat cells have been reprogrammed, and they break down and are excreted from the body in 3 to 4 weeks. If desired, treatment can be repeated as early as 4 weeks for an additional 20-25% reduction in fat cells. Visible results are optimal three months after treatment. CoolSculpting does not result in weight loss. The number of treatments needed for each patient is determined by which area is being treated and how much tissue is present. Because this varies, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all recommendation for how many treatments are required. We offer free consultations to determine which areas a patient would like to treat and how many treatments will be needed to reach their goal. Our patients love this popular treatment because it is done with:
No downtime or activity restrictions
