How does the team approach work? When a patient has a hearing problem, an audiologist will perform a hearing test to determine the cause. The audiologist will then share the results of the hearing exam with the ENT doctor prior to the patient’s evaluation. When the audiologist and ENT doctor are working in the same office and under this team approach, it eliminates any barriers of communication between the two parties and allows them to consult easily and create a plan to treat the patient quickly and effectively.
Vice Versa, if a patient sees the ENT doctor first and the doctor determines that their hearing loss can’t be corrected through medical intervention, they will consult with the audiologist to determine how to treat and preserve the patient’s hearing.
