Dr. Behler is originally from Grand Rapids, MI. He graduated from The University of Michigan in 1992, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Neuropsychology and Pre-Med.

He went on to The University of South Carolina for graduate school where he received his Masters Degree in Public Health. Upon completion of graduate school, Dr. Behler returned to Ann Arbor as a research consultant for the University of Michigan Health System, as well as for the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Dr. Behler attended medical school at Kansas City University School of Medicine and returned to Michigan for his internship and residency training in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery/Facial Plastics at Metro Health/University of Michigan Health.

He has enjoyed performing as Department Chair of Otolaryngology for the past eight years, as well as numerous administrative duties including medical director of surgery and specialty for the hospital and chair of physician governance. He is currently an associate professor, department of surgery at Michigan State University.

Dr. Behler provides care that is personal and focused on access to care. He is a strong believer in advocating for the patient with timely appointments and preventative medicine.

He believes in listening to each patient’s needs and working with them and their primary care physicians to improve their health and keep them well. High emphasis and value is placed on communication with referring providers and having open communication with each patient. Commitment to providing the best healthcare experience is our mission.

Dr. Behler resides in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife and three children. Together they enjoy traveling to Leelanau County as much as possible.
